Prayerwalking-ideas for families

By tarabrown

I found some great resources about families prayerwalking together from PrayKids! magazine http://www.praykids.com.   I will post 1-2 ideas daily for the next few days, so keep checking back! I  hope you are blessed as your families pray for your neighborhood releasing transformation and miracles.

  • Get the whole family excited by planning a special family prayerwalking event.  Discuss in advance where to go.  Get a street map and highlight the route you will be taking.  Pack a lunch, a water bottle and a notebook and pen to write down notes about what you are prompted to pray.  If a particular house or place ( like a school, clinic, etc.) really burdens someone’s heart, make sure to pray for that situation throughout the week during your family’s prayer times.
  • Turn some of your regular family outings into prayerwalks.  If you’re walking to a park, pray for the houses you pass along the way.  If you’re going to the library, pray for the people in the buildings you pass and for the people checking out books, etc.
